Clifton Beach is made up of 4 caves and the beaches are called 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. In the summers, when the South-Eastern winds blow, the Clifton beaches are usually well sheltered from the wind.
All of the beaches are accessible via stairs leading down from the road above. In summer, people have to plan to get to the beach early as parking is very limited. Generally, the 4th Beach is the busiest in summer with good changing room and bathroom facilities. Kiosks on the beach sell snacks, colddrinks and ice creams, as do the many vendors who stroll on the beach. Deck chairs and umbrellas are also available for daily rental.
In Clifton one can wind down stairways among luxurious bungalows to white sands. Tangas, bikinis and sunbathing are abundantly seen in the day than swimming here, as the water is often cold. This is definitely the place to meet attractive people, on the first and second beaches in particular. Clifton features safe bathing and bodysurfing.
Although Clifton does not have any hotels, Bantry Bay is very near from the Clifton beaches, and offers good hotels. If one wants to be near Clifton, he showld stay at one of the Bantry Bay hotels. The awe-inspiring location combined with a near-perfect climate makes Bantry Bay the perfect spot for those seeking an indulging summer break.
Clifton's Fourth Beach is the most famous. Young and fashionable folk are all that can be seen here. There are number of leisures, where one can participate in games of volleyball, frisbee or beach bats.
Third Beach is relaxed and is merry, while First and Second Beach are less accessible from the road and are the most private. All four beaches are equally stunning, and if one is very sophisticated, then they should stay in a private luxury villa or head towards Bantry Bay.
